So, we didn't get our first caravan until I was sixty-something. My wife Lyn had nagged on for at least the past 5 years about getting starter van. I had never towed anything in my life (and wasn't about to start now, at my age)!
Eventually succumbing, we found what looked like the perfect starter van, a Bailey Senator Vermont at 11 years old, a 2008. Found her on EbayUK, and I liked the following (given my complete lack of experience),-
1) Small, 2 birth, (easy to tow)
2) 'Alco' Stabilising system (eliminates swaying and snaking)
3) Motormover-absouletly essential for a couple of weakening old gits like us!
(Lovely clean upholstery and very well laid out).
4) Excellent condition-still really smart and underused, looking 'New' for it's age.
5) Lots of extras, awning, motor mover, Alco, all barrels, Wheel clamp, TV, pipes and accessories;
6) Good bathroom and excellent shower.
7) Guaranteed damp-free (including recent certificate od damp inspection)
7) ...and one of the main reasons-"Can deliver to your home"-an absolute deal-clincher for a twit like me that had never towed a thing!
8) Price-value for money-All this for £5,500.
This looked, after months of searching, the perfect and reasonable way of getting started!
