Cornwall trip end of week two

Well if you are thinking of taking a few weeks out we can thoroughly recommend it.

The Freathy week passed amazingly quickly-which amazed me. I think we have settled in to the holiday now, and it does feel (in a good way) like we have been here at Che Carne for ever.

(you name it)! and speaking to our caravan guy Rhys at home, we are still without.

It has not been without it's problems-really unsure why we have lost our water, but we have, and despite checking and changing everything to do with pumps, fuses, electrics

Not the end of the world, just a bit irritating and only 9 days in!

We have adjusted to the Cornish weather and embraced it, Sun, cloud, drizzle, rain and wind sharing the days and nights randomly.

But this part of Cornwall is lovely. Walking through the silvery waters of Kennack in the early morning is as much as anything one of the reasons that we came. That the dogs are older and therefore our hill-climbing and mountain-pass days need to be pre-thought and cut for their sakes so they can enjoy the rest of the day.

They love the beach with a passion, both but specially Molly who will run, swim and dig all the while as Joe paddles and buries his head madly in the sand!

We made the effort to go to Kynance Cove (North of the Lizard) yesterday about 4PM. The tide was out, it was breezy and with light mist and rain. There was nobody there, about 4 cars in the car park, and we negotiated the steep and winding steps admiring the stunning scenery, down to the beach where the waves were crashing ashore.

The dogs, loved it and it is such a beautiful sandy beach that straddles the rocky shoreline.

When we had climbed back up to the top of the cliff, the rain came. We enjoyed a meal in the Top House Inn, back in Lizard, enjoying Garlic Crevettes, Crab Linguini and a delicious pan-fried fish local special-Monkfish tails.

Next day we arranged to meet up with Lyn's sister and husband a bit further on at Mullion Cove, which was pretty. they had made the trip to meet us from St Austell, so after walking round the harbour, we decided to show them Kynance.

Wow! we couldn't believe it when we got there! There were well over 100 cars in the car park, with National Trust Marshalls directing new arrivals. This time the tide was in, so we took the three dogs (they bought Hugo) down the longer, more circuitous route, avoiding the steep steps, eventually bringing us down to the beach and the cafe.

Well, what a site when we went up to the cafe for a coffee; The cafe was buzzing, set up picnic tables overlooking the azure sea with full sun and again, crashing foamy waves! -so, so beautiful that we spent the lunch there withTuna baguettes, Beer and Wine.

A great experience and surely one of the most wonderful views in Cornwall.

Stunning!

On return to the Caravan park, we had lost our wall to the wind, then the wind prevailed into early evening, so we laid it down and enjoyed the rest of the sun, tucked inside the puffing and blowy awning.
