Bingo!

What a difference once we reached Woolacombe Sands!

This is a massive site, and, as advertised, sits up on a hill overlooking the sea. The views are wonderful, and, as we had booked a 'Super-Pitch', on arrival, we were amazed both by the size, position and lookout of our pitch.

You are also able to position your rig as you wish, so we are set up at a jaunty angle with the living room window facing that view out over the sea.

For information, all the statics and the camping pitches have similar views, so this is a beautifully situated site-for any visitor;

It is a 10,000 step walk to the beach, so a bit much for our weary troop, but a simple drive down and free parking until 10AM

The welcome was good, there is a well-stocked shop, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, playgrounds and a big clubhouse with an arcade, games, pool tables, etc.

The massive difference between this site and our last at Monkey Tree is these guys are really dog friendly. Dogs are allowed in the clubhouse! This gives us a huge lift to our social life, particularly as it was pouring with rain when we arrived.

Happy-Hour is 5-6PM-Kids club 5-7PM, food 5-9PM and Bingo at 7;15PM. drinks are averagely priced, food not cheap but massive portions and a varied menu.

Dogs are allowed on the Woolacombe beach, which is huge and expansive, and the town is sweet, nestling at the bottom of the hill with plenty of entertainment and eateries.

We drove through tiny Cornish lanes out to Croyde, somewhere else that we'd never been, had a nice lunch and sauntered through the town and pop-up market. Our walk to the Croyde beach afterwards was somewhat deflated, as when we were within spitting distance of the beach, and after a long walk, we found the sign "No dogs allowed!" (Surely put this sign at the beginning of the walk)?

Anyhow, the dogs loved the beach, we have met up with daughter Corine and partner Tom and, of course their sweet little Pomapoo 'Eevee', who we are babysitting next week.

The dogs pulled their way up to the club and we drank, ate, and watched the sun set over Lundy Island (also stunning views across the bay through lovely picture windows) while the hard-working entertainers banged out disco music for us!

All rather different and very acceptable!
